Within the electromagnetic spectrum, which waves allow us to see color?
Visible Light
Describe white light?
Equal parts of all the colors in the visible spectrum.
How do we see color if objects "have no color of their own"?
They absorb colors in the spectrum.
What is a glass prism?

When does black light occur?
No light is reflected into your eye.
How color is perceived depends on what?
Type of light it is seen with. Or the surrounding
What is a color wheel?
Visual tool that shows the relationship between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
What are primary colors? Name them?
Colors that cant be made by mixing two other colors. Red yellow blue
What are secondary colors? Name them?
Colors made by mixing two primary colors. Orange Green Violet
What are tertiary colors? Name them?
Colors that are mixed by two secondary colors. The name are two secondary colors connected with a dash.
What are neutral colors? How can they be created?
Colors with very low saturation. They are created when mixing two complementary colors together.
How can a neutral color help a design?
Help to put focus on other colors
What are complementary colors? Name them?
Colors that are set opposite of each other on the color wheel.
What is color value?
The lightness or darkness of the hue.
What is a shade?
A low value color created by adding black.
What is a tint?

Describe an analogous color scheme?
3 colors that are a adjacent to each other on the color wheel used together.
Describe a complementary color scheme?
Made of two colors that are opposite on the color wheel.
Describe a split-complementary color scheme?
A variation of colors that are adjacent to another.
Describe a triadic color scheme?
3 colors that are equally spaced on the color wheel.
